Description
This two-hour lecture focuses on 1) the slowing of peak alpha frequencies (posterior dominant rhythm) that is normal and abnormal in age-related cognitive decline and 2) the various types of dementias as identified via EEG: Alzheimer’s, Vascular dementia, Korsakov’s syndrome, Parkinson’s, and Lewy Body Dementia. While degenerative disorders are difficult to treat with any modality, there are successes with neurotherapeutic approaches, though often the halting of a progressive disease is best case scenario.
