Description

Depression not only has many faces, but also has many reasons for being. This two-hour lecture looks at the literature on depression and EEG, the various subtypes of depression, and the identified profiles of depression (vigilance lability, asymmetrical alpha, hyper-coherent alpha, central beta spindles, and the like). Understanding the etiology of this disorder is as important as the neurotherapeutic addressing of it, and because treatment outcomes can vary, this lecture will focus on techniques that have proven successful and those that have not.

In this lecture, participants will learn:

  1. How to understand how different profiles manifest differently, symptomatically, as depression
  2. Neurobiological findings in depressive populations
